Will it work for my condition?
We screen candidates based on eSight’s main criteria:
- Users are typically between the ages of 10 – 90 years old
- Have a visual acuity between 20/60 to 20/800
- Have at least 15 degrees of field view
Not sure what your field of view is? One of these simple tests can help:
- If you put a letter sized (8.5 x 11) paper horizontally in front of you, are you able to see most of it?
- If you put your arms up, parallel to the ground, wiggle your pinkies, can you see them?
This criteria is not set in stone. eSight works for individuals with over 20 different eye conditions including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, Stargardt’s disease, and many more. We understand that the result of an eye condition varies from person to person. Can I be mobile with eSight?
Yes. eSight moves seamlessly with users throughout daily life and offers the best visual acuity for reading to exploring new places.
eSight is wireless and hands-free with built-in controls. Our patented bioptic tilt allows for up and down tilts, which incorporates natural and peripheral vision for 100% mobility retention.

I’m not tech-savvy. Will I be able to use it?
Of course. eSight users have varying levels of technical ability. On your eSight journey you are never alone. Every eSight user is provided with an eSight coach who has low vision and uses our device. You also have access to eSupport if you have any technical questions. Is there a trial period?
Absolutely. Before purchasing eSight, potential users are able to test our device through the home experience program. We want to make sure you have the chance to try eSight and see how it can be integrated into your everyday life. We encourage everyone to test the device at school, at work or while you’re playing with your children or socializing with friends. During this time we will book a virtual demonstration with an eSight Advisor who will provide step-by-step instructions on how to use the device. It will also be a time to ask any questions you might have.
Is it safe?
eSight is inspected and registered by public health officials. It is a Class 1 Medical Device that is registered with the FDA and EUDAMED and inspected by Health Canada.
eSight is also clinically-validated. In studies by six leading low vision institutions, the eSight approach demonstrated:

Are there different payment options?
We understand that assistive technology can be expensive. That’s why we offer different payment options. These include:
Subject to a credit check and a down payment, potential users are able to pay for the device through monthly installments.
eSight also helps individuals purchase the device through our fundraising program: eMPOWER. Our fundraising program has supported nearly one thousand individuals raise funds to start their eSight journey. There are no processing fees so 100% of the funds raised go towards purchasing an eSight device. All eMPOWER users are provided with:
- Access to our exclusive online peer-to-peer platform, with all fees covered by eSight
- Assistance in setting up your personal fundraising page
- Templates, documents, and other resources to help you share your story and maximize your fundraising success
eSight is clinically proven and available under contract through the Veterans Association (Contract number 36F79719D0058, MAS Schedule/SIN 65IIA/A-94). If you have VA health coverage and are low vision or legally blind then you may qualify to receive an eSight device, paid for by the VA. We’ll also connect you to your Visual Impairment Service Team Coordinator (VIST) and local VA for coverage of your eSight.
If you have private insurance, we’ll submit the paperwork to your insurance provider on your behalf. You are under no obligation to purchase eSight 4 unless your claim is fully approved. Best of all, 100% of the claim will go to covering your device and there is no cost to process the claim.
