FAQs

eSight won’t power on

Check battery level

Have client press ‘South’ button and describe the LED color.

Green = full, Yellow = partial, Red = empty, No light = empty

If LED shows ‘Red’ or ‘No light’ then

eSight needs to be at least 5% level to power

Plug eSight to power and verify that the unit is charging.

If the battery isn’t charging, have the client check the outlet, charger, reconnect the cable to both the wall charger and the eyewear.

If battery level is sufficient then

Have the client press and hold the power button for about 3-5 seconds (normal power up), ask the client to describe the lights and the unit should boot up

If the unit still doesn’t boot up then try the following one by one until the problem is resolved

Have the client hold the power button for about 10 seconds.

If this does not work, have the client remove the SD card and try to turn on the device by holding the power button for 3-5 seconds. Boot up can sometimes fail due to a faulty SD card. If the unit boots without the SD card then the SD card is faulty

If this does not work, press the West/South buttons together –> you should see the power light flash red/green once this is complete press the power to see if it boots –> when doing this look in the eSight display to see if at any time you see the eSight logo

If this does not work, try pressing the North/South buttons together, then wait about two to three seconds and try powering it on, again check for the eSight logo

If this does not work, try holding the power button down for 20 seconds, this should do a full system reboot –> then press power and again watch to see if you see the eSight logo and if it boots

If this does not work, try to do a normal power on (press power for 5 seconds) for 10 times in a row –> it should go to the recovery screen. You should see the eSight logo and then the recovery screen. Wait for the recovery to complete and then the unit should boot up.

If this still does not resolve the issue please contact your eSight Point Person.

eSight stopped working after a software upgrade

Client will see a message saying “eSight has Stopped working” –> it’s been determined that

1) Ensure the eyewear is plugged into power

2) Power on the eyewear

3) Have the client press the North and Sought button together this will shut the eyewear down

4) Have them press the button and turn the eyewear on, have them wait until they see the second eSight logo, then have them press the North/Sought button again to turn off the eyewear –> they need to repeat this 10 times

5) After the 10th North/South they turn on the eyewear and let it run –> they should see it re loading, have them do nothing just let it re load –> this will restore the eyewear back to it’s default software load
They can try to perform the upgrade again but have them perform a Setup>System>System Defaults
